04 _ WHY MELA CAMP?

The Chambal, Done Right

01

Prime Location

Set inside the National Chambal Sanctuary landscape — a 400 km protected river stretch covering 1,235 sq km, granted Protected Area status in 1979 to save the gharial.

Trace Forgotten Trails. Chase River Winds. Let Curiosity Lead You.

02

Expert Naturalist Guides

Our boatmen and guides have tracked this river for years. They know where gharials bask, where dolphins surface, and where the Indian Skimmer nests.

03

Conservation at the Core

Run under the Chambal Eco Preservation & Welfare Society (est. 2014), every stay supports habitat protection and local livelihoods.

04

90 Minutes from the Taj Mahal

The perfect wild extension to an Agra itinerary — reach us by an easy drive from Agra, Gwalior or Etawah.

05 _ DINING AT MELA CAMP

Farm-Fresh Flavours

from the Fields of Chambal

Passion On Plate

Three in-house dining spaces serve regional Braj and North Indian cuisine alongside continental comfort food — much of it grown on our own agricultural farms. Bonfire dinners, riverside breakfasts and packed safari hampers on request.

The Mela Kitchen

From slow-cooked village recipes to fresh tandoor breads under open skies — dining here is part of the safari.
